At 12-4pm at the Civil War Interpretive Center at Historic Blenheim, 3610 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax. Free.  Local and regional Civil War authors and film directors will be available to discuss, sell, and sign their books that collectively span a wide variety of intriguing Civil War topics. Among the themes of fiction and non-fiction books for adults and young readers are biography, military and cultural history, African-American history, and local history. Book sales include a 20 percent donation dedicated to the preservation of Historic Blenheim. Cash or checks only.

Saturday March 6, 2010
The fall clean up of our 1.4 mile stretch of Jefferson Davis Highway between Dumfries Rd. (Rte. 234) and Georgetown Rd. occurs from 11am - 1 pm. We'll meet in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 17041 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Dumfries, VA 22026-2129. Map:

At 11am, the Capt. James I. Waddell Camp, SCV, hosts the 14th annual Confederate Navy - Marine Corps Day at St. Anne's Church, Calvert & Northwest Streets, Annapolis, MD.  Wreath laying, Maryland Div. SCV color guard and music honor sailors and Marines who served the Confederacy. Reception follows at St. Anne's Parish Rectory Hall, 119 Duke of Gloucester Street.

March in the annual National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC, at 1pm
