Ceremony for General Lee's Birthday:

On April 7, 2007, Color Sgt. Bill Peyton, Adjutant Mike Shumaker, Frank Soutuyo, and Chaplain Mike Virts represented Frank Stringfellow Camp #822 at the ceremony in Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol belatedly honoring the 200th anniversary of the birth of General Lee. Attendees enjoyed music by the Tuscarora Brass Band in Confederate uniforms and sang five verses of Dixie to the astonishment of tour groups. Adjutant Shumaker presented the Camp’s wreath in front of the bronze statue of General Lee. It figured prominently in a large photo the Sunday edition of the Washington Times. Dr. James Robertson spoke to the crowd on the character of General Lee and his devotion to duty.
